Ride It Out: Breaking Chains, Breaking Cycles

By November 13, 2023Faith-Based Blog

I will turn 40 in less than 10 days yet only within the last year have I learned to ride a bike. Like a lot of things that I’ve done as a parent, I didn’t overcome this hurdle for myself as much as I did for my children. To break the cycle of #pridethat prevented me from learning as a child and would have prevented my children from doing the same, I had to commit to making this happen.

Though I knew the mechanics of how to ride a bike, coaching from the sidelines knowing that I had never ridden would not have been very effective for my son and daughter.

#Ministry is the exact same way. Unless we are willing to be transparent and admit to brokenness and what it took to get back up on that bike to help someone else’s brokenness, it simply will not work as both of you will end up fallen/falling.

Now, much like the affinity I have for being transparent in ministry, I can’t get enough of #BikeRiding!
