As I stand before the dawn of my son,
A shadow’s cast o’er the charge I’ve begun.
As the father I’ve become the darker matter that hold’s him up.
Within the gravity of this situation,
My family’s status is stipulated
By the passion reciprocated in black wholesome love.
In my son’s light, I’m cool to bask in the shade
As my shadow blends nicely in the noon of his pampered age.
I was groomed back in the day to be cast backstage to play up his understudy.
So like the limelight of the front stage,
I shine light with how my son’s raised…
Shedding sun rays on any front page that upstages his thunder budding.
Wholly invested in solar energy,
The mold he’ll inject in brings polar synergy –
But to inspect and behold his golden entity too closely
daunts his father’s earthly vestige.
Left in my son’s spotlight created,
I’ve manifested a blind spot blotted and phased in…
That’s blocked my gaze and misplaced proper perspective.
Hence, this effective method has come with a clause.
An undetected message has come at a cost.
Unexpected from the dark side of the son, there’s a frost that mars me.
Like the mannequin on the sidewalk of I Am Legend
Or Anakin Skywalker’s dive into bedlam
An ominous guise has been embedded and lodged that’s darkly scarred me.
Such traits manifested in my son’s shadow
Frustrates the standards kept in the sponge of my marrow.
Unless I subjugate such tragic sense channeled – the knight shall fall.
And since I don’t like the gall of such blinding dishonor,
I’d rather bind to being my son’s knight in shining armor…
Primed for the pride and honor of aligning his charge.
To fight the spite that’s evolved to harm his charm,
I write with might and resolve to dissolve the dark.
To resolve his charts, I’ve involved the psalms of a bard to thwart this tendency.
But the knight’s darkest before the dawn.
So despite the strife, I will ward off what’s spawned…
As the respite of this remark drawn upon dwarves sworn enemies formed within me.
