Raising the Subpar Barabbas

By April 10, 2020April 18th, 2020Faith-Based Blog

Though the brutes that died by Jesus’ side
Were crucified for indecent crimes
To show you and I the piece of pie we were deemed to dine
detrimental hearts on –
There was another released with departed clout
As part of a Jewish custom designed to eat Jesus’ heart out
With a shrewdness governed by a thesis carved out of a Presidential pardon.

The Pharisees saw fit to excuse this unsteady turkey
Without fairly seeing how their piece of the jigsaw fit
in executing He Who was unworthy:
Barabbas was a tool readily used as a pun –
showing those deserving death how Christ traded places.
But this isn’t about Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy –
This is about how the Son of man was apt with steady certainty…
In more ways than one, He’s ahead of us on the curve and
wording of His adjacent replacement.

You see, the name ‘Barabbas’ starts with an apparatus
That puts a star on his absent status:
‘Bar’ isn’t hapless or passive – its a simple symbol of a patriarchal society.
This name assignment stood for ‘son of’ in Hebrew –
Ask the ‘son of Jonah’ Simon or Barnabas – either of these knew…
From sun up to the evening dew, such assembled credentials
prompted matriarchal sobriety.

But It doesn’t matter how tongues produce and pronounce Barabbas –
Jesus’ substitution was accounted as a bar far above.
There is only ONE begotten Son of the Father,
BAR NONE – He razed the bar.
The evidence is there – just look at what He did Word for word
When He took the place of this murderer…
MC Christ did some wordplay – breaking things down
curse for curse as He raised the bar:
Galatians 3:13
The latter half of the name of this convict
Should bring a smirk of laughter as it aims to convince –
‘Abbas’ means father in this content – there’s no minced words about it.
Do you see it?!! – this ‘son of the father’ was snubbed
For the TRUE Son of the Father’s sub…
Orchestrated by both the Son and Abba Whose blood
has rinsed our worth amounted.

So as we bathe and wade in the blood of the Lamb
The trade that was made with the Son of Man
Was blatantly portrayed with a namesake game
for us to understand its intricacies.
It wasn’t so much that Barabbas was let go –
It’s that Jesus was the over study from the get go…
While most would get it – He let the rest now implicitly.

And as this rotten garbage was blotted
By the plot of the Begotten of the Father –
A subplot was also started to sustain His blood’s relativity.
Jesus put in work to get up
on the day of rest as Lord of the Sabbath.
At the same time, He didn’t let this name game rest –
Barsabas is even more established…
He’s the son of the Sabbath – none can un-attach
this blood relative, figuratively or literally.

Matthew 27:15-26
‘…the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath.’
