Our Father in heaven looks out for us. Not just for our well-being, but for our presence, too.
My son disappeared this morning and was gone for a good amount of time. I had some things I wanted to share with him but I couldn’t because I was getting his lunch ready. So, I just waited patiently (to the best of my ability!) for him to return on his own without having to call or search for him. I eventually found out that he was upstairs on his phone and out of my presence because he knew that being on an electronic device before school was not going to fly in my sight. Once I found out from his sister, the house echoed and shook as I called for him to come down with a mighty shout!
Don’t we tend to do that with God, though? When we do things that we know aren’t in His will for us, we try to remove ourselves from His presence but He notices! Truth be told, He is omnipresent so while it’s possible for us to remove our presence from Him, it’s impossible to remove His presence from us. Though my son was able to do so, my thoughts towards him became even stronger the longer he withdrew himself from me.
And if my thoughts grow stronger as a mere human being, trust and believe that the thoughts of your Father in heaven grow stronger towards you the more you try to withhold yourself from Him even in the midst of your wrongdoing. He loves you and has great words, thoughts and works towards you! Return to Him… lest He shake heaven and earth with a mighty shout to bring your presence back into His!
